Youth Services Librarian - Jerry Lawrence Memorial Library (D'Iberville)

Qualifications – High School Diploma or equivalent; Two years’ college preferred; coursework or experience working with children preferred; two years’ relevant experience preferred; familiarity with computer applications and technology, as well as social media
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop, publicize, and implements programming for families, children, and young adults that fosters a love of reading and develops literacy
- Conducts outreach in daycares, preschools, and other organizations that serve children and caregivers
- Plans and implements the Summer Reading program activities
- Plans budget request for library materials for children and youth and for programming needs
- Recommends children’s and young adult materials for purchase
- Manages materials for children and young adults
- Creates displays to promote library materials for children and youth
- Creates and maintains a welcoming atmosphere in the children’s area
- Maintains and reports statistical information regarding programming and attendance
- Collaborates with other children’s librarians in the system on programming and special projects
- Supervises volunteers
- Participates in general circulation schedule and duties as needed to ensure that library service needs are met
- Other duties as needed or required by Branch Manager
Hours: 40 hours per week, including some nights and Saturdays.
Other benefits: Paid annual and sick leave, paid health & dental insurance, participation in state pension plan.
Minimum salary: $12.15 per hour.
Library Clerk - PT - West Biloxi Library
Location: West Biloxi Library, 2047 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS
Position: Library Clerk – PT

Qualifications – High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to provide excellent service to patrons by maintaining a tactful and courteous demeanor; basic computer skills; physical ability to bend, lift, reach, and carry up to 25 lbs.
Role and Responsibilities
- Greeting public and providing excellent patron service
- Assisting in opening and closing the library
- Processing library card applications and patron record updates
- Checking books in and out
- Shelving books
- Answering phones
- Assisting patrons with finding library materials and placing holds or requesting ILL
- Assisting patrons with computers
- Assisting patrons with reference questions
- Handling payments for fines
- Assisting patrons with prints, copies, and faxes
- Maintaining a neat and pleasant environment
- Maintaining patron privacy and confidentiality
- Providing all other basic library service to patrons
- Other duties as needed or required by Branch Manager
Hours: 17 hours per week, including some nights and Saturdays.
Minimum salary: $11.15 per hour.
Library Clerk - PT - Pass Christian Public Library
